Day 1 – Hello Pisa
We start 5 days in Tuscany. After leaving your luggage at the Bed & Breakfast you can start enjoying the city of the most famous tower in the world and its millenary history in this tour of Tuscany.
Of course you will have as much time as you like to take the typical pictures holding (or pushing) the famous leaning tower.
If you feel like it, you can climb the tower, enter the incredible Romanesque cathedral, and admire the monumental campo santo, so you can say that you have visited all the monuments of “Piazza dei Miracoli“.
But Pisa is not only a tower, so we have prepared for you a welcome detail, just go to the Pizzeria la Tana and there you will be welcome to enjoy an authentic Pizza of Pisa!
After the Pizza we suggest you an authentic Italian ice cream watching the spectacular sunset on the banks of the Arno river, when its houses that are tinged with gold. You can stroll through the medieval old town, through its ancient market … do not forget to stop at the square of the Knights, a square remodeled by the Medici family after the conquest of Pisa by Florence. This square hides many secrets that you can learn here.
Did you know that…
- Pisa has a total of 3 leaning towers, although only one is the most famous and attracts the most tourists to take the typical photo “holding it”.
- There is a small church on the banks of the Arno river. Here legend has it that a thorn from the crown of Jesus was found.
- Officially it has only 90k inhabitants, but its student population exceeds 50k. So you can imagine the atmosphere you will find.

Day 2 – Florence
Today in the 5 days in Tuscany, if you want to enjoy the day, we will have to wake up early to go to the train station in Pisa which is a 15 minute walk away. From there we will board a train that in about 1 hour will take us to Florence.
From Santa Maria Novella station and with our advice, it will be very easy to discover the center of Florence.
The center of Florence, although larger than Pisa, is easily walkable.
From the station after visiting the basilica of Santa Maria Novella, after a short walk you will be in Via Calzaiuoli, where today you will see the most prestigious Italian fashion stores. Following this street you will reach the mythical Piazza della Signoria, where you can’t help but stop to admire all the monuments that face this iconic Florentine square.
From there you can visit the Uffizi Gallery and the mythical “old bridge“.

Do you still have time left in the Tuscany Tour and are not tired? You can still visit Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli garden, or walk up to the mythical Michelangelo square, where you can take the postcard photo with the dome of the Florence Cathedral in the background.
Do you want to eat something typical of Florence? In our tips you will find a few recommended dishes and places, so you won’t fall into any traps.
At the end of the day you will have the train back from Florence to Pisa, so you can enjoy the university life of Pisa or go to bed after such a hard day.
Did you know that…
- The city of Florence became the capital of Italy between 1865 and 1871, before Rome.
- Stendhal visiting Florence had such a feeling of uneasiness for the beauty that emanated from the city and the perfection of the Renaissance geometries that he even felt uneasy: this is the origin of the famous Stendhal syndrome.
- If you want to be lucky with money, look for a small wild boar in Florence…

Day 3 – Cinque Terre
After a cultural day in these 5 days in Tuscany in the city of Pisa, today it’s time to get on the train to reach a unique coastline in the world.
After an hour and a bit on the train we will arrive in La Spezia, from where you can access by another train to the natural park of Cinque Terre.
This was named a World Heritage Site by Unesco, and includes among other things 5 small villages, each different, but all spectacular.
We will give you the best tips to visit them in the best possible way, to enjoy their beaches, trails, rocks, food … and to take the best photos to make all your followers on Instagram envious.
After enjoying the sunset in the 5 days in Tuscany we will get back on the train to Pisa, to rest after a very hard day.

Day 4 – Lucca
If you still have energy in your 5 days in Tuscany, we suggest a half-day excursion to Lucca, a small medieval town with an impressive city wall. The city is just 25 minutes by train from Pisa, and you will only have to go to Pisa train station to reach Lucca quickly. Once in Lucca you can’t miss the Piazza Anfiteatro, a unique square built on the structure of an ancient Roman amphitheater. Bordering the square you can still see the structure of the amphitheater. Apart from the thousands of elegant palaces of Lucca, you will not remain indifferent to the cathedral of the city, the church of St. Martin, one of the most beautiful in Tuscany, reminiscent of the style of the cathedral of Siena.
By the way, do not forget to taste the “Buccellato” a typical sweet bread of Lucca.
After enjoying this small and not so touristy town in Tuscany you can return by train to Pisa, and enjoy the afternoon to stroll along Corso Italia and buy the last gifts of your trip.
