Day 1 – Venice

Welcome to Venice! Take the necessary transportation to meet us in the unique and beautiful City of Canals: Venice! Where Unitrips awaits you. This city had the honor of being one of the most powerful, rich and populated cities for many centuries, dominating the Mediterranean and the eastern trade routes.

You will fall in love with this city, which could well be a museum of extraordinary dimensions. Venice is one of the most photographed places in the world, and we cannot be less, take out your camera because bridges, Vaporettos and Gondolas are waiting to be immortalized. • The last bridge built in Venice was designed by a Spanish architect: Calatrava.
• From time to time in Venice there is a phenomenon called “Acqua Alta“. It causes a sharp rise in the water level in the lagoon of Venice, which usually lasts about 3 – 4 hours. Depending on the intensity with which it occurs, it can flood, with half a meter of water, most of the historic center.

Day 2 – Venice – Pisa

There is so much to see in Venice!

We will enjoy the Byzantine influenced art that characterizes St. Mark’s Basilica, admire the Grand Canal from the Rialto Bridge, but if you really want to enjoy this city get lost in its narrow streets and be surprised at every turn of the corner.

In the afternoon we will board the train to continue our wonderful tour of Italy, heading to… Pisa!

Did you know that…

• There are no cars in Venice, not even bicycles because it is forbidden, and you are even fined. The only way to move around the city is on foot or by water.
• Although walking around Venice, we get the impression that there are many canals, there are only two, the Grand Canal and the Giudecca Canal. The rest of the small canals that flow between the narrow streets are called rivers.

Day 3 – Pisa

Today we will discover the small university town of Pisa, a region of Tuscany. Here we will walk through the ancient medieval sea power to admire the most famous tower in the world, which with its inclination has amazed everyone for 1,000 years: The Tower of Pisa.

We will stay tonight in Pisa to sleep, so that we can enjoy the whole day… And the night! Pisa is a university town, with many exchange and Erasmus students. Come out to discover what’s going on at night in this small town.

• The highlight of this Italian city is its leaning tower. Millions of tourists come every year exclusively for it and the typical photo “holding it”.
• It is considered, along with the cathedral of which it is part, one of the jewels of Romanesque art, so that the government has requested on several occasions, aid to prevent its collapse.

Day 4 – Pisa – Florence – Rome

“Buongiorno Principessa” said Benigni, Florentine actor, in the movie “Life is Beautiful”.

We wake up to explore a new part of La Bella Toscana today: Florence. We will take a train from Pisa to reach the cradle of the Renaissance: Florence.

Today you can visit many works of art by these authors in the Uffizi museum, or if you don’t feel like being in a museum, you can stroll through the hills of Florence. From there you can see the mythical dome of Brunelleschi, which dominates the entire city.

Enjoy the day, because in the evening we will get back on a train that will take us to the “Eternal City“. This is just the beginning and we still have a long way to go in this Tour of Italy by train.

• The climate of Florence enjoys a temperate continental climate, it is a city of blue skies and hot summers as well as dry and cool winters; as Florence belongs to the Tuscany region, its climate is usually warm and cozy.
• Florence was the capital of Italy between 1865 and 1871.
• The Fontana del Porcellino is famous in Florence because of an old popular legend that says that touching the snout of the wild boar brings good luck. If it passes through the grids falling directly into the fountain, the wish will be granted. If not, bad luck.

Day 5 – Rome

Buongiorno Roma!

Where do we start? Rome was not made in one day and it cannot be visited in one day either. We will start with the smallest state in the world, with the largest church in the world: the Vatican. Here you will find beauties such as St. Peter’s, the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel, where Renaissance artists such as Michelangelo left their indelible mark with frescoes such as the Last Judgment. We will continue our visit to Castel Sant’Angelo, you don’t know what we have for you in this Italy by train tour.

Unsatisfied? We still have to visit the Pantheon, try our luck by tossing a coin in the Trevi Fountain and no less we will go to see the symbol of the city, the most visited monument in Italy: the Colosseum. Despite being half demolished, it still maintains the charm of its history.

Day 6 – Bye Bye Rome

Today is our last day, and we say goodbye to Rome with tears in our eyes.
