Day 1: Marrakech arrival at the airport
Start this wonderful one week trip in Morocco! Get ready to enjoy to the fullest this country full of culture and incredible landscapes. Arrival and transfer to the hotel.
Day 2: Marrakech
After breakfast you will have a full day excursion to discover Marrakech. To immerse yourself in the red city and have lunch in the Medina, you will visit the most beautiful palaces and monuments of Marrakech such as the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Majorelle Garden, among many others.
We also will visit the famous souqs where merchants selling everything from leather, carpets, fabrics, to spices, kaftans. Then free time.
Day 3: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Today we will discover the ancient Morocco. After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up at the hotel, to immerse ourselves in one of the most impressive mountain landscapes of the country. We will cross the High Atlas passing through a 2,260 m pass.
We will see the magnificent valley of Ounila with its olive and almond trees as well as the life of the Berber villages. This road will take us directly to the fortified village of the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the most beautiful of the route of the Thousand Kasbah – former caravan port of those arriving from the Sahara, among others. In the center of Ouarzazate you can visit the Kasbah Taourirt and then we continue our journey to Dades through the Valley of the Roses. Overnight in a Kasbah. You will travel towards the river of Dades, via the valley of roses, and the route of a thousand Kasbahs. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Dades – Todra Gorges – Merzouga
After breakfast, we will climb a path to observe the gorges from a strategic place in the mountains and then follow a road dotted with beautiful Kasbah totally different from each other. After several stops, we will arrive at one of the strong points of the South: The Todra Gorges. The Todra riverbed has formed a gorge of vertical walls of enormous proportions and great beauty; it is a climber’s paradise and a unique place. Lunch on site and continue to the desert to reach the impressive Merzouga Dunes, where we will take a tea of hospitality while resting a little.
We will leave our luggage at the lodge and depart on a one-hour camel caravan that will take us to the Haimas camp. Stop in the middle of the road to watch the sunset on the dunes and stretch your legs before continuing the way to the camp. Before dinner we will have the opportunity to climb the dunes near the camp and have a tea enjoying the peace and silence that is breathed there. We will spend the night in the haima, under the spectacular blanket of stars.
Day 5 – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi Dunes Tour – Khamlia
In the morning after breakfast you will start the excursion from the hotel that will take you through the sand dunes near the Algerian border where you can have the opportunity to take pictures and see the black volcanic rock formation, you can also visit the nomadic families and see their way of life.
Next, we will pass near small Berber villages such as Tamrdanite before arriving in Khamlia, a small village. Here, you will enjoy the spiritual music of Gnawa, played by the black Berbers. On our way to the hotel you will appreciate the view of the Ait Sareji lake (especially in spring), which attracts pink flamingos and many other birds. Afterwards, we will return to the hotel to rest.
Day 6: Desert – Rissani – Midelt – Ifrane – Fez
After returning with the camels, take a shower and breakfast, we leave for Rissani. It was the first imperial city of Morocco and there we can admire its peculiar market, unique in these latitudes, a place where the nomadic tribes of the desert go to stock up. It is also very curious to see its donkey parking. Then we will take the road to Erfoud, we will have a panoramic view of the Ziz valley with its palm groves and gorges. And once past the port of Tizi-n-Talghomt, we arrive in Midelt where we will have lunch. After lunch, we will leave by road to the cedar forest. There we will make a stop to see the monkeys in freedom. Before arriving in Fez, cultural capital of Morocco, we will pass through Ifrane (called the Moroccan Switzerland). overnight in Riad.
Day 7: Fez
After breakfast, guided tour of the mystical Medina of Fez. This Medina is making a retreat into centuries of history, which is to feel the smells and hear the sounds of its 9000 streets. Visit the tannery, the Karueein University and the schools as they told stories with history! Free lunch during the visit, then visit the gates of the Royal Palace, passage in the Jewish quarter and panoramic views of the city. Dinner at leisure and overnight in Riad
Day 8: Fez Airport
All good things come to an end, and this incredible tour of Morocco had to have an end too. After the last breakfast, we check out and end this trip, see you in another adventure!
