Trip to Iceland

Day 1 – Arrival in Reykjavik

Your journey to Iceland begins – welcome to Reykjavik! After pick-up at the Airport we will transfer by private bus to the hotel, located in the center of Reykjavik.

Departure for an orientation tour with Tour Leader through the city, one of the northernmost cities in the world. We will visit the main sights such as the harbor, the city center, the Harpa Congress and Concert Center, Hallgrimskirkja Church and The Pearl (outside of the venues).

In addition, you will have the opportunity to visit the Aurora Museum, a fascinating place where you can learn all about the famous Northern Lights, one of the most spectacular natural phenomena in the world.

The sagas date back to ancient times, to an old man who lived in the 10th and 11th cycles in Iceland. The heroes of these sagas are generally famous for the reason of the Viking expeditions they have or for their personal qualities (sense of love, poetic talent, chivalrous horses, etc.).

Day 2 – Reykjavik – Golden Circle – Hella

On the second day of your trip to Iceland and after breakfast at your hotel, we will head to the famous Golden Circle. The Route combines some of the main attractions of this country, heading towards Lake Laugarvatn and then towards Thingvellir National Park, the Parliament Valley which was the center of Icelandic democracy in the 900’s and the first European Parliament. This is a historically and geologically interesting place, classified in the UNESCO world heritage.

In the geyser field, we can also observe many natural phenomena: hot springs, petanque and water boilers. Finally, we will see the White River that transforms into a magnificent waterfall, Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall, plunging into a deep basalt canyon. We will carefully walk around the site of the waterfalls.

At the end of the day, we will stop at the secret lagoon where swimming is possible because the water is naturally warm. A place usually frequented by the inhabitants of the region. Later, we will move to the hotel in Hella, a cozy village in the south of Iceland.

Day 3 – Hella – Surroundings – Hella

This exciting day trip will begin with a visit to the famous Lava Museum, where you can explore the fascinating history and geology behind the spectacular lava formations in Iceland.

After the museum visit, we will head into a magnificent natural setting, surrounded by rolling hills and waterfalls, to enjoy the stunning colors of Icelandic autumn. This is a perfect day for those who enjoy walking and being in touch with nature.

Finally, we will stay in Hella, where you can relax and enjoy a delicious dinner surrounded by the nature and tranquility of this beautiful place.

Day 4 – Vik -Skaftafell – Jokulsarlon – Vik

In the morning, we depart for an exploration of Skaftafell National Park. We cross the volcanic sable expanses of Myrdalssandur. Then we will cross the low tide of Eldhraum, the result of the great eruption of the volcanic volcano in 1783, one of the greatest catastrophes in Iceland’s history. Beyond the steep parishes of Lomagnupur (670 m) and the sands of Skeiôararsandur, we will reach Skaftafell National Park under the sight of Iceland’s highest elevation (2119 m), the Hvannadalshnukur. You will be surrounded by the icy tongues of the Vatnajökull glacier on one side, and other volcanic plains on the other. This visit is a real pleasure because you can admire and photograph the glacier.

We continue our trip to Iceland with a route to the east, we will discover the largest glacier in Europe, Vatnajôkull. Afterwards, we will have free time for lunch. We will be able to observe along our route, quantities of glacier tongues that seem to escape from the mountain to meet the sea and settle in Jôkulsarlon. Its calm blue waters are parched by the iceberg of the Breijöamerkurjökull glacier. The lagoon calms down through a small channel to the Atlantic Ocean. We will return to Vik, to rest a bit before going on the hunt for Northern Lights.

Day 5 – Glacier Cave – Hveragerdi – Reykjavík

We will start with a visit to the impressive Katla Ice Cave, where you can explore one of the most spectacular places in Iceland. This ice cave is a unique natural wonder in the world, and you will get a close-up view of the impressive glaciers and the majesty of the ice.

We will continue our adventure to a geothermal park in Hveragerdi, where you can enjoy the breathtaking views and experience the power of nature as you soak in hot springs.

Finally, we will arrive in Reykjavík.

Day 6 – Reykjavik – Blue Lagoon – Reykjanes Peninsula

Today, on your trip to Iceland, we will go to the Blue Lagoon, an icon of the country.

You will discover the Reykjanes Peninsula, with its lunar and wild landscapes, a walk on the bridge between 2 continents and a lighthouse. The Reykjanes peninsula is the youngest part of Iceland and the most southwestern part. Due to the arrival of the North Atlantic mountain range, this leads to volcanic activity. You will see lava fields, lava tunnels, fumaroles, solfataras and other boiling mud pools, cliffs and hot springs found in various places on the peninsula. Almost more than half of the peninsula is made up of lava fields, some of which are no more than a few hundred years old.

We will drive to the lighthouse on the westernmost part of the peninsula, Reykjanesta. A magnificent place with a rich winged fauna in the summer seasons and a unique nature where the cliffs meet the sea. We will have free time for lunch during the visit on the peninsula and then return to Reykjavik.

Day 7 – Sky Lagoon* – Reykjavik

Today you will have the opportunity to visit Sky Lagoon. A Geothermal Spa located in the south of the island. No matter if it’s cold, snowy or raining, you will be sure to be at a very pleasant temperature!

Later we will transfer to the airport to finish the tour.
